The Fillongley Agricultural Show is the longest running Traditional Agricultural Show in Warwickshire and for many years has supported the community by making donations to local organisations. In 2014 the Society introduced a Bursary to help support a young person intending to apply to Agricultural College to further a career in farming. This year it has been awarded to Josh Cox.
I’m pleased to say that I have now completed my one year course, sub diploma, in agriculture at Reaseheath collage with an overall distinction.
I have also worked for and gained some more additional qualifications in ATV handling, veterinary medicine, health and safety as well as obtaining my telehandler licence.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there and learnt so much within agriculture that I have decided to go back in September. I will be doing another one year course and specialising in the dairy sector, as this is my main interest.
I would like to say thank you again for the bursary as it has helped me out enormously with my travel expenses and the cost of overalls and boots.
The Society are also very happy to be able to make donations in 2018 to:
Myton Hospice – £176
Scouting Jamboree – Lily Marsh & Katelyn Acton – £250 each,
Pets As Therapy – £100
Corley and Keresley Riding Club – £250.
Warwickshire Search and Rescue – £400.
These are the Charities that we have helped over the years.
